The Office of Career Services is offering some great programs this month where you can network and develop your professional skills. I know classes are picking up, but trust me, these events are worth your time. Grab your planner and save these dates.

Kickstart 4 – Interviewing February 3rd 6 – 7:30pm

The Career Kickstart series is aimed to help you be successful in your job/internship search process. This session will focus on interview skills, including what to wear, how to prepare, what questions to expect, what questions you should ask and how to follow up. With application deadlines looming, go ahead and get a jump on your interview skills before those potential employers call.

2016 IU Camp Fair February 17th 11:30am – 3pm

Interested in working at a summer camp? This fair is for you. Come to the IMU to network with representatives from summer camps located all over the U.S. This is your chance to meet face to face with potential employers that you may not have the opportunity to visit for an in-person interview, so go on and make a good first impression.

LinkedIn Photo Opportunity February 18th, 19th, 22nd – 24th 12 – 3 pm

We bloggers love LinkedIn, just check out this post or this one. Here’s a great chance to get a free headshot taken. I know…it’s cold and you don’t want to dress up. But really, you just need to look good from the shoulders up, so I won’t judge you if you wear sweatpants.

LinkedIn Workshop – Polish Your Profile February 25th 11am – 12pm

While we’re on the subject of LinkedIn, is yours up to snuff? Come find out at the LinkedIn workshop. Whether you don’t have a profile or you’re looking to improve what you’ve got, the Career Services staff will teach you some tips and tricks to make your profile stand out.
