International Panel Recap

The School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation hosted an International Career Panel event on Thursday, April 12, from 12:00P.M. – 2:00P.M. in HPER Room 125. The International Panel event was a good opportunity for U.S. students seeking information about studying or working abroad. Likewise, it helped international students who were looking for more information about studying or working in the U.S. 21 people participated in the event including six panelists: Jae Woong Han – interned with Octagon Baseball agency last summer and will be working with Octagon after graduation, Kenio Yao – Volunteer experience in China and Tanzania. Management trainee of a logistics company in Hong Kong and an event coordinator for China Sport Event Management Group, Margo Mullinax – Health educator in Costa Rica, Peace Corps volunteer in Dominican Republic, and experience conducting research in Uganda, Hsien – Chang Lin – Assistant Professor of health policy and management at the Department of Applied Health Science in the school of HPER, Stephanie Jurinek – Studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia. Participated with the International Students Association and became the U.S. representative for the University, and Tadahiro Hayakawa – Sports reporter in Japan for 13 years, covering soccer, tennis, and Olympic Games. Has visited over 22 countries to cover events. The overall feedback from the attendees was positive, with a wealth of information being shared about international experiences and opportunities. As a result, the HPER Career Services staff looks forward to making this a recurring event.
