USA Diving is Looking for a Communications Intern

USA Diving is currently seeking qualified individuals to apply for a communications internship for the summer of 2011.

USA Diving is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of diving. Headquartered in Indianapolis, USA Diving offers diversified programs geared toward the broadest number of diving enthusiasts, from the novice to the world champion. USA Diving conducts approximately 40 regional and national events annually and is responsible for training and selecting teams that represent the United States at international events such as the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cup. Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to, writing articles for the USA Diving website (www.usadiving.org) and Inside USA Diving magazine, writing press releases and newsletters, assisting with preparation for national level events, researching, and assisting Communications Manager with day-to-day operations. The intern may be asked to assist other USA Diving staff members as well.

Qualifications

Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field. Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and should be detail-oriented and highly organized. Desktop publishing, Photoshop and website skills are a plus.

Terms

The internship runs from mid-May to mid-August and is a full-time position. A small stipend will be provided, and parking assistance and school credit are available.
